Cem Rodoslu
Our Founder
As the founder of Rodoslu Marketing Solutions, Cem Rodoslu has been leading the purchasing, marketing, and supply chain departments of leading manufacturing and retail companies in Turkey for more than 30 years and has been the pioneer in many areas in the sector. Together with its leading partners in their field, Cem Rodoslu provides consulting services to companies that have ambitious growth goals in business, want to build an advanced level of customer loyalty and become a pioneer in the market. Creating "Social Brands" that benefit society to establish an emotional bond with the consumer is his primary priority in business life. Throughout his professional life, the thing he believes most is the team spirit; That's why at the heart of every project he carries out, he first cares about team spirit, then courage, determination, and passion.
At the beginning of his career, he was in the establishment of Dardanel Factory in Çanakkale and worked as the factory manager. During his time at Dardanel, he has contacted with many farmers around Turkey, then switched to the retail sector from the manufacturing due to his interest in marketing. He managed the procurement department of Tesco Cash & Carry, the largest wholesale market in the Aegean Region in Turkey. He worked as the director of the food group, by taking part in establishing the food procurement operations of Turkey at Promedes (Continent), the first hypermarket in Turkey. After Carrefour's acquisition of Continent throughout the world, he was appointed as Carrefour's Food Group Trade Director as a result of the commercial condition comparisons and audits made with the AT Kearney during the merger of Carrefour.
During this period, he also took part in Promedes World Trade and Carrefour Montesson Stores in France. He joined Doğuş Group as a member of Tansaş Executive Board in 2002 and has been in the decision-making team in the restructuring and reorganization process of Tansaş since then.
He took part in and managed all procurement, restructuring of product structures, reorganization, restructuring of marketing strategies, shelf management systems, supply chain models in the renovation of stores. Tansaş is the first retailer to commit not to permit the products at shelf that are not manufactured in Turkey. Also within Tansaş, today Turkey's largest meat shredding facility, Miget (known as Tanet later on) transformed from a serious loss to an efficient and profitable company within 3 years. When in Tansaş, he shared strategy and implementation changes with suppliers clearly by holding the first wide-ranging supplier meeting in Turkey retail history. He played a pioneering role in Tansaş making a big profit from serious loss by taking his team with him. In 2005, with Migros acquisition of Tansaş, he started working as a Deputy General Manager at Migros. During 14 years, as a member of the Executive Board of Marketing and Overseas Operations at Migros; he managed procurement, marketing, supply chain and overseas operations. He started to work as Deputy General Manager at Migros with the acquisition of Tansaş by Migros in 2005, and for the next 14 years as a Member of the Executive Committee of Marketing and International Operations at Migros he managed procurement, marketing, supply chain and overseas operations. Migros is more than just a company; he believes that it is an ecosystem with all its employees, customers, and suppliers, and by developing the ecosystem discourse, he has built the entire operations in Migros on this ecosystem.
Some of the projects he led at Migros; Migros Nostalgia Campaign, See - Believe Campaign, Istanbul Card Integration with Money Card, Good Agricultural Practices, and Agriculture is Our Future. Also, he has pioneered systemic transformation such as the transition to category management and reorganization according to this structure, creation of software and KPIs for business and product management processes, the transition from regional purchasing organization to central purchasing organization, the transition from manual revenue structure to automatic revenue structure, the definition of CRM revenue model, Supply Chain Management structure model system transition to automatic order model, promotional sales area and application of shelf management models and the establishment of China - Italy offices. Also again, he created the first wide-ranging supplier meetings and trade fairs in Turkey, he has led to the formation of the Migros Ecosystem soul by bringing together suppliers and store employees.
He also served as a board member of the Coca Cola Research Retail Council - World Sustainability Committee between 2011 - 2015.
The greatest passion of Cem Rodoslu is Anatolia. He started to work since he was a student at university. He was born in Ankara. As a child of a family of immigrants and civil servants, he started primary school in Artvin Murgul, finished high school in Kütahya Emet, studied university in Izmir, and completed his military service in Ezine, Çanakkale. He has studied, worked or lived in almost every region of Turkey. That is why he defines his country as "everywhere where the Turkish flag is flying". In addition, one of the biggest sources of motivation in life is music, which he has been interested in since his childhood.
He completed his undergraduate education as an Agricultural Engineer at Ege University and continued his graduate education on Agricultural Policies. He completed the Harvard Business School Advance Management Program at the age of 48, with many leading business leaders worldwide. He is also currently a 3rd-year undergraduate student at the Department of Sociology at Istanbul University.
He has been working since his college years. He has worked in many fields, from marketing books and pots to selling the Olivetti cash register to village grocery stores. He helped trucks to transport sesame seeds that came from Sudan to Izmir port by trucks to Konya Karaman. He started business at an early age and at the heart of commerce.
